Kereta Api Lodaya Malam travels between Bandung (BD) and Solo (SLO).
Lodaya Malam train is a train serving the same route with Lodaya Pagi train, namely Solo Balapan-Bandung and vice versa, but the journey is done at night. The existence of Lodaya Malam train is relating to Padjadjaran / Senja Mataram train which was launched on March 11th, 1992 serving only Yogyakarta - Bandung route at that time. However, on September 1st 1992, the route was expanded into Solo - Bandung. Padjadjaran / Senja Mataram train changed its name becoming Lodaya train after the rejuvenation on May 2nd, 2000 by traveling back and forth from Solo to Bandung in the morning and evening using the same train.
Along with the increasing number of Solo- Bandung train enthusiasts and vice versa, then in October 2006, Lodaya II train serving majors in the night was launched, which has contrary route with Lodaya I train schedule. Finally, Lodaya II train is known as Lodaya Malam train until now. This train travels for about 447 km far which is taken for about eight hours and 30 minutes with train number 67 and 68.
For Solo-Bandung route, the train departs at 07:00 pm and arrives at 03:27 am. As for Bandung-Solo route, it also departs at 07:00 pm but arrives at 3:45 am. During the journey, Lodaya Malam will stop at several stations: Cikudapateuh, Kiaracondong, Cipeundeuy, Tasikmalaya, Banjar, Karanganyar, Kebumen, Kutoarjo, Yogyakarta and Klaten. There are both executive and business class in a series of Lodaya Malam train. This train's name is taken from one folklore in Tatar Sunda, Macan Lodaya (Lodaya Tiger) which was the incarnation of Prabu Siliwangi when meeting his son, Raden Kian Santang.
