Worst flight ever!!
"This is the worst flight in my life. Almost 6 hours delay from Penang to Kuala Namu, Medan and crew on the gate desk didn't give a proper explanation. They ONLY gave us fried rice with an egg which was in super small portion (don't need to tell you the taste) and a cup of water, they delivered it 8.45pm when people already got hungry on 7.00pm. All of my friends already told me don't choose Lion Air like ever. I never believe them, know I do! I won't choose Lion Air again in the future, and if you want to choose this flights please think twice. Don't waste your time, you better spend a lil bit money for other great flights. Lion Air is the worse. I had my parents and my aunty and uncle with me, can you imagine how tired they were waiting for 6 hours without a proper explanation. From 1 to 10. Sorry not sorry I give 1 to Lion Air."
Not bad, but could be better
"Leg room has reduced significantly over the years and the flight is often late even though this may not be in the airlines control with airports getting very busy. I would definitely recommend Lion Air over some other budget airlines."
Lion always delay
"I flew with Lion with a 3 hour transfer in Jakarta. First flight departed over an hour late so in the airplane I contacted a flight attendant: how about my transfer flight? And she was pretty honest, she said "Lion always delay", well if a flight attendant is saying that of their own employer that says something! And yes, the next flight was also an hour delay. Lion is fine, seats are crampy though and you don't get any snacks or drinks and unlike airasia where you can still buy it in the airplane, Lion only offers some cookies and a few drinks for sale. "
Little bit terrible but is satisfied
"I was going back from Medan to Jakarta, and it was delayed for about 1 hours because the plane from Jakarta to Medan was delayed and the other side I still need going back from Jakarta to Semarang and I was very angry at that time coz the plane is not on time but after that I had a safe flight finally I was arrived at Jakarta safely"
Seat space too narrow
"The seats space on domestic flights are too narrow and uncomfortable for slightly above average men."
"Check in was ok, but the flight was delayed. Information was only giving sparely so i had no idea what was going on. After a few hours waiting we got a small container of water and a sticky bun which i only eat bc i was really hungry. After 3,5 hours we finally took off. "

Lion Air is privately-owned and one of the most popular airlines in Indonesia with both domestic and international flights. It challenges the government-owned flag carrier Garuda Indonesia with a low-cost model using brand-new Boeing 737-900ER. It all began with a dream of two brothers named Kusnan and Rusdi Kirana who started operations in June 2000 with a single leased Boeing for flights between Jakarta and Pontianak. Before, the two brothers operated a succesfull travel agency and with an investment of $100.000 they started Lion Air. One of the brothers designed the logo and cabin crew uniform to save cost; these are still in use today. It was the first low-cost airline in Indonesia, it was therefore in a unique position which insured a tremoundous growth culminating in setting in 2011 the world record for the largest airplane order to date: 230 aircraft from Boeing. The deal is also the largest commercial aircraft order ever in money terms in Boeing's history. Althought huge for Boeing, for Lion it was not enough. Just over a year later Lion Air placed another order for 234 A320 aircrafts with Airbus setting a new record for largest order at catalogue prices at $24 billion. Lion Air is now part of Lion Group. Several subsidiary airlines have been set up beginning with Wings Air in 2003, a regional airline using turboprop aircraft on lower density routes. Recently the Lion Group has expanded rapidly with Malindo Air (Malaysia) in 2012, Thai Lion Air (Thailand) in 2013 and Batik Air (full-service carrier in Indonesia) also in 2013.
