The Albany Regional Airport (or also known Harry Riggs Albany Airport) is located 11 km northwest of the township of Albany in Western Australia. The airport is the largest airport in the Great Southern Region and is used for scheduled flights, by the Air Force and by the Royal Flying Doctors Service as well. As recent as 2007 the main terminal was refurbished.
Albany Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Albany Airport, most of these are operated by Regional Express. Many people take a flight to Perth and transfer to another flight there.
There are not many transport options at Albany Airport. If nobody is picking you up you are forced to take a taxi to your destination or rent a car at one of the car rental agencies.
