Airport security: Calls for domestic airport security to match international terminal levels

A plan to bring airport security standards at Australia's domestic terminals more in line with those at international terminals will be contemplated by the Federal Government, a move aviation security experts have labelled long overdue and "absolutely necessary".


Under these changes, passengers would have their identification checked when receiving boarding passes, liquid restrictions would apply and full body scans would be conducted.


Aviation security expert Roger Henning said there was a "really serious gap" in aviation security not just at domestic terminals, but also regional and rural airports.
