Soekarno-Hatta LCCT to get more self-check-in machines, bag-drop stations

State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II is set to develop its international low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT) at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to accommodate significant growth in passenger numbers.


AP II president director Muhammad Awaludin said on Tuesday that the company had recorded 1.7 million international passengers on low-cost carriers (LCC) over the January-May period of this year, which is up 2.5 percent from the 1.66 million counted in the corresponding period of last year.


Meanwhile, up until June 9, the company recorded that the total number of LCC passengers at the airport increased by 2.27 percent to 1.8 million. The increase, he said, signaled that LCC airlines were still very much in demand.
