Taking your bicycle on the train? Keep in mind this new regulation

State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has implemented a new regulation regarding the type of bicycles that are allowed to be taken on the train.


Only folding bikes with a maximum weight of 20 kilograms and maximum wheel size of 22 inches are allowed on board the trains, which include interprovincial trains on Java island, the commuter line, airport trains and South Sumatra LRT.


Especially for commuter line trains, the folding bicycles should have a maximum dimension of 100 by 40 by 30 centimeters.
