Saving Your Cell Phone Battery While Traveling

The cellphone has become for most people the main communication device. A day without an active cellphone may be quite unsettling, especially when you’re travelling. Nowadays, a cellphone is not just to call or send text messages but it is now often provided with usefull traveling apps like internet, Maps and GPS location. It can be quite troublesome if your battery runs out of power... These are several tips to make sure that does not happen.

Always charge your cellphone’s battery full

Sounds obvious but easy to forget. Try to remember to fully charge your cellphone’s battery  before going on the road.

Turn on the silent mode

Turning on the silent helps save energy as the sounds and vibration of the phone when receiving calls or texts will drain the battery power. So, you can save power by turning on the silent mode.

Use map without GPS

Your cellphone may be provided with GPS making it easy to know where you are and in which direction our destination is. Unfortunately, the GPS is a major power drain so best to turn it off and if you need it use the Maps application without GPS. Only enable GPS when you need it.

Use applications wisely

Be careful emptying your cellphone’s battery by using applications unwisely like music player, video player and games. Also best  not to open social media apps quite often as this will also drain the battery quickly.

Turn off your cellphone

Turn of your cellphone when the signal reception is low. A low reception will cause your phone to boost the power to enhance the signal. So, when you’re in an area with minimum service reception, best to save  power by turning your cellphone off or put it on Airplane mode for a while.
